Chains stores the data needed to run your account and sync your rounds: your email, your handle, the rounds and scores you record, your friends, and course edits you make.

Your rounds live on your device first and sync to our servers so you can restore them and share live cards. Location is used only to find nearby courses and measure distance to the basket — it is never sold.

You can delete your account at any time from the app; deletion is permanent and removes your rounds, friends, and profile.
